The World Is My Runway

Not only am I in love with the color of this jacket, but TA-DA!  It has ruffles too!  Add ruffles to anything and I will fall in love instantly.  This camel color is so versatile and a less harsh version of the leather jacket as opposed to a black one.  It almost goes with anything!  Throw it over jeans and a t-shirt, or a long bohemian dress.  The result is instant put-togetherness!

I must apologize for the lack of posts lately, life just gets a little crazy sometimes!  This maxi skirt is my new favorite go-to comfy item!  It's a little boho with this fringe vest, and clogs are the perfect balance to the silhouette.  I just can't get enough of those clogs!  What do you think about long skirts?  Would you wear this look?

Since it has been raining a bit where I live I have been drawn to my hat collection a lot more frequently.  My hair turns to an awful, frizzy, mess in the rain and I would rather just avoid it altogether!  Not only that, but I am starting to get roots again!  Almost time for another hair appointment!

So what do you think of shorts with tights?  I love it because it enables you to wear shorts when it's cold!  It opens up so many more style options the colder months.  When I first wore shorts, tights and heels I felt a little hoochie (are people still saying that?) but when I asked my husband, he said it looked nice.  He is always my gauge in hoochie-ness!  I can always count on him for the truth!  I don't think he wants his wife parading around in booty shorts!  Heehee.

Grey and green is my new favorite color combination.  My husband actually wore some grey shorts and a green shirt the other day (by my suggestion).  He originally thought it didn't match but I explained to him that grey is a neutral and basically goes with anything!  You would think that being so into fashion, that I would want to style everyone I know!  Believe it or not, I don't normally pick out my husband's clothes!  I just throw in little suggestions here and there!  I tell him "You know sports, but I know fashion!"  To each his own!

How amazing is this purse?  It is Nine West and I got it at Marshall's for $15 because the clasp was broken.  I fixed it!  I love deals like that because a lot of damaged items are fixable!  You just have to make sure that it is worth the discount.  In this case I saved about $15.  Totally worth it!

Just being silly.  Seriously, I look so ridiculous when taking pictures of myself.  Just me...by myself...with a tripod...jumping around.  Ahhh the humiliation.

Ahhhh...I absolutely love something that is comfortable and chic at the same time.  I do believe that jumpers/rompers are here to stay. If the fit is right, there is nothing easier to wear than a one piece outfit. This one I got at Urban Outfitters on the sale rack for $10 (I'm telling you I AM the queen of bargains!), and the fit is DIVINE! Although I don't normally shop there (the prices are a little more than I like to pay) Urban Outfitters has some extremely well tailored clothing.  Sometimes you definitely get what you pay for! The top of this jumper is a little slouchy and the bottom fits closer to my body, which is exactly the way I want it to fit.  I adore the tapered legs.  Finding the right fit can be tricky.  In my case, since I am small I want to create more of an hourglass figure.  The pockets and drapey fabric on the sides add volume to my hips.  If you don't want to call attention to your hips, you should avoid this sillhouette.  Instead, look for a straight leg that is not cropped.  Jumpers come in all shapes and sizes, so there is one for every body type!  But I'm begging you PLEASE do not wear the denim pant, tight fitting jumpers.  I don't know who started that, but they are not attractive on anyone!  Blah!

I have owned this hat for quite awhile, but have always been a little afraid of it.  I wore it to church once, and felt like the ladies who wear the giant hats and block everyone's view!  The more I wear it though, the less weird I feel!  I guess some things just take some getting used to.  Now I am on the hunt for a big black floppy hat, which will probably scare me too.  The people behind me in church will not be happy.  I'll have to make sure to slouch in my chair.  I apologize in advance. :)

Over this past weekend I went on a jewelry-making rampage!  Once I get in the zone, there is no turning back.  The result of all this madness was a sore back and neck (from concentrating so hard), and some really cute stuff!  Totally worth the backache!  I am excited to debut this chain necklace and bracelet!

Straying from my usual fedora, I chose this pageboy hat.  LOVE!  Confession: I had to cut the elastic in the back because my head was too big!  Haha.  You know what they say...big head = big brain!  I'm just really smart! :)

This shirt is extremely shapeless, but I am really loving the soft drapey-ness (fake word) of it.  The color is so beautiful and romantic.  I can also picture it with dark grey...that would be fab!  Ok my peeps, let me know what you think about my jewelry-making skills!  I love hearing your feedback!

Still with Nicole Ritchie's style in my mind, I find myself being drawn to flowing shirts and soft fabrics.  Then I had to add an opposite.   What is a complete 180 from a flowing top?  Duh, a leather vest!  I hesitated when pairing this vest with these kind of biker chick boots.  "Is it too much biker?", I asked myself.  I looove leather and studded details but can there really be too much of a good thing?  I threw my better judgement to the wind and went for it!

Although comfort is usually the furthest thing from my mind when getting dressed in the morning (oh the things we women do for beauty!), this morning was quite the contrary!  This ensemble is the epitome of comfortable, which fit my completely lazy mood!  The last thing you want to do when laziness overcomes you is strut around in 4 inch heels all day.  It can be exhausting!

Now let me tell you something about these boots...they are my adoration at the moment!  I know, I know, I obsess about one thing after the next.  If fashion A.D.D. existed, I would have it!  So...back to the boots.  A wonderful line called Dolce Vita has arrived at Target!  They make AMAZING shoes, especially boots.  These biker boots are not bulky AT ALL, which is the main thing I love about them.  The toe is very narrow and makes for a flattering fit!  I encourage you to take a peek at Dolce Vita or Dolce Vita for Target online.  I'm sure you will fall in love as I have!

Yes, I know sometimes my pictures can be a little dorky, but I am just a silly girl!  Silly.  Silly.  Silly.  I have been DYING to wear this lace blazer!  Wearing black lace in the day, during the summer feels a little gothic, and that is definitely not the look I am going for!  Even though I don't think it is officially fall yet, it IS September, and that is good enough for me!

I love a monochromatic look!  The key to pulling it off, is by doing different shades of the same color.  It is best to use neutrals like grey and brown.  An all yellow ensemble will just make you look like a banana...or Big Bird!

This outfit is all kinds of comfortable!  Super soft pants...kind of sweatpant-like, a slouchy tee, and a tailored boyfriend blazer that pulls it all together.  I am LITERALLY obsessed with slouchy sweat-like pants.  They are the best thing EVER!  Once you try them, there is no turning back!

Ahhh, nothing I love more than a deep pocket I can sink my hands into!

I usually like to be drenched in accessories, but I wanted to stay with the simplistic nature of the outfit.  This Y shaped chain necklace is simple but adds a little pizzazz!  Sometimes, less CAN be more!  Sometimes... :)

Ok, so I lied...In an older post (It's Not Easy Being Green), I mentioned that I don't really care for camouflage.  Something came over me and I suddenly changed my mind.  This is proof that you shouldn't be quick to make judgement on a trend until you try it!  I found these pants on sale at JC Penny, and decided to go for it!

I don't care if it's still warm outside.  I have decided to put summer behind me and jump into fall colors.  After all, it IS September.  Cargo pants have become my go-to comfortable outfit rather than jeans.  Paired with the softest, slouchy sweatshirt I have ever felt, it will be difficult to not wear this every single day!  This fall consists of the most comfortable and cool style options.  Whoever thought of it is my fashion hero!

This is a kind of a rugged and grunge type look, so it was completely necessary to wear heels and lots of jewelry.  Makes me feel a little bit rock and roll. :)

I am totally in love with this super comfortable, extremely chic, sweat pants and heels trend!  This look has it all; a little bit of sex appeal, the "cool and effortless" factor, and a whole lot of comfort!

Here is my version of the trend (please try not to compare me with the models above).  The first time I saw it was actually in an issue of Lucky Magazine (my absolute favorite magazine for style inspiration).  I couldn't wait to find some cute sweat pants and put together my own look.  Today was a perfect day for it too, because wait for it...the temperature was in the low 70's!  A perfect overcast day just in time for this cozy, comfortable outfit!  Beware when you try this at home folks.  You may put your sweats on and want to climb back into bed!  Ha!

On my recent trip up North, my husband and I stopped at a flea market.  Even though he probably didn't want to go, he was a trooper and took me without one complaint!  Love that man of mine!  A flea market is definitely a hit or miss, and as soon as I saw this necklace, I snatched it up!  It is very special to me 1) because my husband bought it for me, 2) it is my first flea market purchase, and 3) I bargained with the lady to lower the price!  Excuse me while I pat myself on the back. :)

On another note, what do you all think of the clog trend?  I quite like it!  Especially when girls wear them with shorts or dresses.  So cute!  I bought these clogs last year at Target on a whim and ONLY because they were $5.  Nobody wanted these lonely little shoes.  They were the rejects at the time...but lucky for me, they came back in style!
