The season of tights and boots has begun! I use to relate tights to little kids or old ladies, but it is a new generation! Now can't get enough of them! There are so many different patterns, textures and colors. You can really have a lot of fun with them!
There is so much going on in this outfit. It is kind of a hodge podge of random items, but I had so much fun wearing it. I felt like I belonged in London or Paris...maybe it's the hat.
These boots were purchased from Bakers at the end of the winter season. One of the best deals I have ever found on good quality boots...$30! What a steal! The end of season sales are where you can always find the best deals! Granted, you may have to wait a little while until you use the item, but it is well worth it! It's like getting a Christmas ornament from someone as a Christmas present. You have to wait a WHOLE YEAR to use it! I know, I know, it's the thought that counts. :)
The leaves are starting to change, the sky is looking gloomy...but why is it still warm outside?!! This outfit is as close to fall as I can get without dying from heat exhaustion! I am sooo in denial about the weather. My body's telling me no...but my miiiiind's telling me yes! (Haha R Kelly reference)
These boots are the most difficult ones in my closet to wear! I love them, but had the worst time EVER finding something to wear with them! They are kind of bulky, and I have scrawny little legs. Also, they are kind of lumberjack-esque (Yes, sometimes I make up my own words), so I don't want to look too manly! I TOTALLY based this outfit off of the boots. Determination clouded my judgement as I opened my closet this morning!
I am pretty proud of these jeans. Found them on sale at Target for $13 and I have to say that they are pretty awesome! Great fitting pants are few and far between for me, as probably for most women. But when I laid eyes on these studded, distressed skinnies, I knew immediately that they would fit! Love those moments! When I first started wearing jeans with holes in them (purposely distressed), I can't even tell you how many people would ask me "oh, what happened did you fall down?" as they laughed to themselves, thinking that they were hilarious! I love it! I too laugh at my own jokes more times than not...(as she gives a sheepish grin).

Sometimes I go online and look at photos of celebrity outfits for inspiration. The other day I was looking at Nicole Ritchie's style and couldn't get it out of my head when I got dressed in the morning. Hence, the bohemian, casual, kind of hippie outfit I came up with. I absolutely love her style! It seems so effortless. To come up with an outfit that looks like you're not trying too hard, when you ACTUALLY DID try hard, is a task in itself!
This shirt is made by Hang Ten, which is kind of random because I didn't even realize they still made clothes! I'm kind of oblivious to the whole "beach scene". I remember when I was in Junior High and this boy would make fun of me for not wearing "name brand" clothes like Hang Ten and Roxy. LOL! My mom bought me a Hang Ten shirt that I picked out at Ross, and I thought I was sooo cool! I don't even think that I liked the shirt, I just wanted to be like the "cool kids"! What is it about name brands? Have you ever bought something just because of the label? I'm so glad I don't care anymore! Cute is cute no matter the price!

Mixing prints is really in right now, so I thought I would give it a go. I don't think I've ever tried it before, so this should be fun! I decided to go with mixing two different stripe patterns. Definitely easier to pull off than any other prints. I have read that when you are mixing stripes, use items with the same color pallette and mix smaller stripes with bigger. The rest of the outfit, keep pretty simple.
This was a really fun look to wear! Looking at the photos I am actually liking it better than when I was wearing it. Don't be afraid to try new things. You just might be pleasantly surprised!
Some of you may not like the mixing of patterns, it is really a matter of preference. So...here is another option, just for YOU! (See below picture, I am pointing at you! haha)
If you like my double stripe look, I encourage you to try it and make it your own! In fact, I DARE YOU! :)

Grey paired with a bright color is my fav! So chic! There are so many beautiful, unexpected color combinations that you can wear with it! Pink, purple, yellow, brown...the list goes on! Since it is a neutral, you can wear almost anything with it…it's like a blank canvas. I chose these dark grey cargo/hammer pants with a dark grey boyfriend tee. Wearing the same color on top and bottom is a great way to lengthen you’re body and leg line. Especially if you have short legs like me!
I absolutely ADORE this lightweight cardigan from Charlotte Russe. I don't normally shop there, but it seems like they are revamping (has nothing to do with vampires you Twilight lovers, haha) their style to be a little more fashion forward. Me likey! As for the necklace, it just goes with EVERYTHING! It's my new obsession, even though I believe I've already met my quota of obsessions this month. Pairing feathers with crystals...pure genius! The bracelet is a little random, but it is green and my wrist told me it felt naked. I don't listen to the rule that says "remove one accessory before you leave your house" so you won't be over accessorized. In fact, I do the opposite! Add one! The more the merrier!
