Classic With A Twist

July 9, 2010 2:01 am · Posted by sassysweetheart

This is definitely one of my more toned down outfits!  Just a simple white tee and short sleeved navy blue blazer. This blazer goes with practically everything. I love the short sleeves and how it goes in at the waist, creating curves that are not really there!  A prime example on how you can use clothing to your advantage. A fitted blazer is one of my favorite things and a great staple to have in your wardrobe! It is a classic piece that will never go out of style!

Adding a statement necklace and strappy heels dresses up the outfit and creates a more modern look.  Rolled up jeans show off my new current obsession...these ridiculous shoes!  You might see me rocking these quite often.  Don't say I didn't warn you!   **Jeans: Just USA, Blazer: Forever 21, Shirt: Marshall's, Bracelet and Necklace: Vera Wang for Kohl's, Purse: Ross, Shoes: BCBG

Delicate Little Flower

Wearing bright colors or a floral pattern can instantly brighten your day.  My outfit really reflects the type of mood I am in.  If I am feeling tired or lazy, I put on flat shoes, jeans and a t- shirt.  When my inner biker chick is trying to make an appearance, out comes the leather jacket.  It has been said that certain colors can create different emotions.

Blue creates calm, red is anger, yellow makes you happy and so on.  Is there any article of clothing that instantly lifts your mood?  Send me your feedback, pictures, etc! I absolutely love the color pallette in this dress. So ladylike, it makes you want to attend a garden party, drink tea and eat scones!  I wore a thin, white, cotton blazer over the dress to create a more work appropriate look. It can also be worn without the jacket like the pictures below. As if I wasn't already squealing with delight over all the girliness, a ruffled purse from Old Navy matches perfectly!

The belt, bracelet and ring add a hint of toughness to balance it all out.  Neutral strappy sandals almost blend in with my skin tone to make my legs appear longer.  You will never hear me complaining about that!
